J.J Cale can seem a little dull or slow at times however this disc GRASSHOPPER is anything but that,.It hops right along i was amazed and at least a couple of times i caught myself looking over to see who i was listening to as i had forgotten and could not pick it up on my own. This is one of his older discs from the early eighties (82)/5(64).
  7. Tara says:
As always, J.J. Cale doesn't disappoint with Grasshopper, taking his solid recognizable sound one step further into the eighties. Music On Vinyl's release of Grasshopper is the first since , finally available on heavy duty vinyl! gram audiophile vinyl.
  8. Mezigrel says:
J.J. Cale drifts toward a more pop approach on this album, starting with the lead-off track, "City Girls," which could almost but not quite be a hit single. The usual blues and country shuffle approach is in effect, but Audie Ashworth's production is unusually sharp, the playing has more bite than usual, and Cale, whose vocals are for the most part up in the mix, sounds more .
